Expert rabbit control in SOUTH WEST WALES

If there’s one thing we all know about rabbits, it’s that they reproduce quickly. Less well-known is that they are also capable of spreading life-threatening diseases. On top of that, rabbits eat a huge range of plants, from ordinary vegetables to even young trees, allowing them to rapidly destroy your garden and landscaping. Appearing overnight and potentially only 12 centimetres long, rabbits can be hard to spot themselves. Look for tell-tale signs such as circular pellets and clumps of fur. If you detect any hint of a wild rabbit in your home or commercial property, contact us immediately. We respond to calls 24/7, 365 days a year and aim to respond to emergency call outs within as little as 1 hour.

Recognising rabbits

Grey rabbits can grow up to 40cm in length. They can reach sexual maturity in 2-3 months and have a gestation period of just 28 days. Up to 5 litters per year are possible with the average litter size being about 5. Arriving in Britain perhaps as far back as the Roman period, rabbits are distinct from their cousins, the hare, as a hare has black tips around the ears and larger hind legs.

Without undergoing rabbit control, a small problem can soon escalate to cause long-term damage. The burrowing of a family of rabbits, plus their combined grazing, can cause erosion problems that might be irreversible and reduce the growth of future plants. They may even modify the entire lay of the land, leaving you with the expensive or time-consuming job of re-landscaping.

The most effective rodent deterrents and control

At Apest Control, we never resort to cruelty. In all of our cases across South West Wales, we first examine the unique situation to see if control is the best way forward. If our assessment suggests so, we calculate the humane solution that will work best for your specific pests. In the case of rabbit control, we have professionally trained staff available to carry out gassing using aluminium phosphide. Alternative options include shooting, snaring (with a free running noose), spring traps, cage traps, drop traps, and ferreting. Better still is a rodent deterrent that stops them ever entering your property: speak to our staff about setting up wire or electric fencing today.
